Intermission Youth Theatre and St Saviour's Intermission Youth Theatre is open to young people of faith, of different faiths, or of no faith. I.Y.T. is led by Christians who believe that we are called to show the love of God in action by who we are, how we care for each other, the respect we give each other, and the continual love and support that we give to our young people. Intermission is based on relationships and relationships take time to develop. Even though we do not continually speak of God we find that faith issues are raised through our work. We embrace the tough issues faced by our young people who live in this wonderful yet often cruel and challenging city. We pray that we are an oasis where hope is key and support is strong. Our young people are very aware of Intermission being church based. By the time we get to the stage of rehearsals for a production trust and core values are well established and we stand together in prayer before each rehearsal and performance. Those of no faith have enjoyed the warmth of this time and those of different faiths join us in prayers because our prayers unite us as people who love God. We have also moved from leader led prayer to our young people feeling comfortable enough to want to lead the prayers themselves. Our ministry is about sowing seeds. What happens at intermission will never be forgotten by our young people so the ground is fertile for the Holy Spirit to work in their lives. Not our timing but God’s . Thanks be to God.
