A Star is Born
Music and Drama for The Nativity
  7.30pm    Fri     9th December 2011
at Holy Trinity Sloane Square

Intermission Youth Theatre will be joining forces with The Choir of the 21st Century in a programme of music and drama based on the story of the Nativity. Proceeds will go to Intermission Youth Theatre.

Actors from our professional theatre company are joining with members of IYT to play the acting roles within this piece. We will also be joined by our Ambassador Sylvia Syms who is to play ‘The Creator’.

The Choir of the 21st Century (CC21) is one of London’s leading chamber choirs. It was formed at the beginning of the new millennium to create performances with a 21st century perspective. It is made up of some of London’s most experienced amateur singers, performing and recording a repertoire which is deliberately broad, both sacred and secular, to reflect the depth and richness of the choral music which is our heritage. CC21 has appeared at venues including St John’s Smith Square, St James’ Piccadilly, Cadogan Hall and the South Bank. They have collaborated with the English Chamber Orchestra in Handel’s Messiah and Bach’s Christmas Oratorio and in November 2011 will be working again with the ECO, under Raymond Leppard, in Handel’s Acis and Galatea at Cadogan Hall.

In the first part of the evening’s programme CC21 will be singing Christmas music from Germany and France. In the second half CC21 and IYT will be coming together to perform Vaughan Williams’ late work “The First Nowell”. This will be a very special evening. Please do come to enjoy the performance and to support the excellent work of Intermission Youth Theatre.
