We began in the Spring of 2008 with a mission to work with 15-25 year olds who are at risk of offending, offenders or lacking in opportunities. Every year we take on 25 young people from different areas, faiths and varying nationalities.

Intermission Youth Theatre (IYT) uses Shakespeare plays as inspiration, and reimagines his works by interspersing his original language with street rhetoric creating our own contemporary interpretations.

We believe that engaging young people with Shakespeare's work can help enhance their dramatic creativity and confidence, raise their ambitions and aspirations, as well as develop their critical thinking skills to better prepare them for making life choices.

Each year, the youth theatre concludes with a four week run of a professional Shakespeare inspired production.

To further enhance individual development, we offer mentoring and pastoral care alongside our training.
